Planes, Trains...and one taxi cab

We made it! After two flights, a five hour layover, three trains and one long awaited taxi, we made it to our bed and breakfast in Bruges. We are staying in a gorgeous little room that overlooks a canal and couldn't be more pleased. Kees, the owner made us eggs and bacon this morning and even had some gluten free bread. He apologized for its texture and taste but Lance and I explained that it was normal for gluten free bread to taste like cardboard used by a homeless person for his winter shelter. Lance has now told me that I am being offensive but that is the side effect of wine and champagne by 3pm. Man I love vacation! Below are some pictures for your viewing pleasure :)

Me uploading this blog post! Totally awesome and exciting!

This is the view from our room. The pond is filled with Koi for sushi later.

Lance Romance making love to the camera and the canal. Yah, he's well endowed. Almost tripod like (Hi Sheldon and Shannon!!). Oh, and thanks Grant!

This is an old building that a local lady re-appropriated and made into a local garden. I think my friend Chris would be most impressed.

 Me! Bruges style.

 St. Savier's Cathedral
More Lance. Charming :)

Us enjoying our time with a rain drop on Lance's nose.

This is an installation right in front of the Groeningemuseum. We spent a great deal of time puttering about this museum.

We plan on cruising the canals in one of the many tour boats tomorrow. You can see one of them in the above picture.

SWAN!!!!!! Love you Maja!

The infamous Belfort from the movie In Bruges. Oh...and I guess it is also a Unesco recognized site dating back to the 13th century.

Above is a more fulsome view of the Markt square and Belfort tower.

Almost lastly, this is the meal I am digesting as I write this post. Mussels, fries and white wine. So good! This restaurant is just around the corner from our B&B and owned by a local gay man who is married to a police man. The decor is simply FABULOUS!

And lastly, here is a shot of me finalizing this blog post with Lance-O passed out beside me. Jet lag, wine and a bit of Flemish rabbit stew has done him in.

We will post again soon with more adventures. Love you all.

  9. Enjoying the shoutouts to Dave and myself - all in reference to liquor... Though perhaps such homage is not frequent enough - you are on holidays and are FORGIVEN!!! (Also, I now know what you think of us...) Also: Blog looks great. You make me wanna GO somewhere. Possibly VEGAS.
SWAN!!! (how was the "double SWAN"? Any good? I know the creamy Maja was good... of course.)
